Along with my greetings, I would like to once again thank you for your trust in Curiosity and your interest in our program. Below, you will find a informative zoom meeting, relevant information along with a data form that we require you to complete at the end of this mail.
Informative Zoom Meeting
We will have an informative meeting for students and parents in which we will describe in detail all the program activities, behavior rules, and the features of hotels, transportation, and meals. We will also review the travel logistics, where and when we will meet on the departure and arrival days, what to pack and what not to pack, communication, documents, etc.
The date, time and zoom link for the meeting are in the original email you receive in spanish.
Information about Documents
Curiosity requires that each student has a valid passport with an expiration date after the return from the expedition. We will request a copy of this. We will also need a copy of the identity document (National ID Card for Chilean students). Lastly, we will require a copy of the Birth Certificate, which is needed for minors leaving the country with Notarized Permissions.
VISA for entry into the United States
Each student requires a visa to enter the United States. If the student holds a Chilean passport, they should obtain the ESTA Waiver Visa. If the student has a passport from another nationality, we suggest checking the current visa requirements for entry into the United States on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Chile or from their respective country. During November 2023, we will send you a step-by-step document on how to obtain the VISA Waiver online, a process that takes only a few minutes to complete and 24 hours to be approved.
Notarized Authorization to Leave the Country
The Chilean authorities require notarized authorization for any unaccompanied minor to leave the country. Each student must have this notarized permission, along with their birth certificate, to exit Chile. This document can be obtained from notary offices and must be signed in person by both parents or guardians, as applicable. We recommend completing this process during the first half of December to ensure that the document is valid and not objected to by immigration agents. We will send a model notarized permission during the second half of November.
Student Data Form (MANDATORY RESPONSE REQUIRED)
For the expedition, we will need you to complete the following form for each student participating. This form requests your child’s details, emergency contacts, medical information, uniform size, and more. This form also asks for PDF copies of the following documents (it is not mandatory to have all of them to complete the form; they can be sent later):
- Passport
- National ID Card (for chilean)
- Travel Insurance (if you provide it; not necessary if obtained through us)
- Birth Certificate
- U.S. Visa (ESTA Waiver required for Chilean passports)
- Medical prescriptions (translated into English)
- Notarized Permission to leave Chile
These are the necessary documents for the expedition and can be provided as needed. You do not need to have all of them to complete the form.
